5th Station - No Man Is An Island

Scene: Same place; Jesus is now standing again, one arm hanging limply at His side (He now has a dislocated shoulder). The other arm is wrapped across the shoulder of Simon, who is supporting the Lord. The soldiers are lowering the cross again onto them.
John is standing with an arm around Mary, whose hands are crossed in a praying posture and whose halo now has three stars. Peter stands with them looking a little more relieved that Jesus now has help.

Yes, Lord, we can help if You need us. Teach us to realise that Your invitations to us usually come through the world and circumstances around us. Don't let us stand back and claim that we were never given a chance.
When we come forward to help, let us not worry that no thanks are received from those around us. Your love and affection is always there, reaching out to touch us gently ~ let this be our reward. But if we feel unable to help, then do not let us lapse into despair, but let us rejoice in the knowledge that You are able to draw workers to You from all mankind.
